Winter and knitting seem to go hand in hand. Short days and cold weather = Knitting needles and yarn.
Hats were on the needles in December. Once I made one, I just kept going. I managed to finish three.
My husband is my favorite person to knit for, he always gushes over everything I make for him. That makes him knit worthy in my book :)
I have made him hats before but I feel this one is the best so far. (knitting skills improving)
No major mistakes and it was a perfect fit.
Yarn: Handspun Border Leicester wool (natural colored)
Pattern: A Tweed Hat
All of the hats were knit in the round using circular needles and changing to DPN's when needed.
These two hats were made with some yarn I bought at JoAnn Fabric on Black Friday. With the sale price and coupon, it ended up being less than 2.00 a skein. One skein was used, so each hat cost me 2.00.
Yarn: Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Heather Yarn
Pattern: Bette Hat Pattern
Yarn; Lion Brand, Vanna's Choice Heather Yarn
Pattern: Seed Banded Slouch Hat
(One of my daughters was sweet enough to model them for me and another daughter did the photography) Have I mentioned that I love having daughters?
I think hats are a fun knitting project! I started a pair of fingerless gloves and I think January may be the month I finally try my first pair of mittens.
What winter projects have you busy?

lovely hat!
ReplyDeleteThose hats look so soft and warm! Love the colors! My mom just knitted me a messy bun hat. Have you seen those? I am working on a cross stitch sampler I bought at a garage sale this summer.
