Handmade Gifts: Knit Soap Pouches

I find knitting to be a great stress reducer. I usually have a project (or two) on the needles.

With life being so busy due to lambing time, I wanted a simple and quick knit.  Dishcloths are my go to project but I already have more than enough of those.

I decided on some soap pouches, that could add to the soap, I have set aside for a birthday gift.

Cotton yarn from my stash, size 8 needles, and a simple pattern. Ready, Set, Knit...

Cast on 15 stitches
4 rows-Stockinette Stitch- k(RS) p(WS)
1 row-K2 together, YO
starting with pearl row, continue with stockinette for the pattern.
I did not keep track of rows, I just continued until it looked long (folded) to hold the size of soap I was using. (ending with pearl stitch (WS))
You finish with 1 row K2 together, YO.
4 rows Stockinette Stitch
Bind Off.

Match up the K2 together rows (holes) I used the mattress stitch to close the side seams.

Crotchet a chain for the tie, weave through the holes.

It was a fun simple knit and a great way to use up some cotton stash.
