Lambs and a Snowstorm

We are in the midst of a snowstorm. So, of course the ewes are going to lamb. There was a new ewe lamb, that  greeted us this morning, when we did a barn check.

Snowstorms are always a good time to have lambs (eye roll).  That is how this winter lambing works! The #1 reason we lamb in the spring. If it wasn't for the fact that the girls are involved in the 4-H sheep project, we wouldn't have any lambs in the winter.

On the bright side, we have not had the cold winter temperatures, that we had last winter.
The ewes and lambs are tucked away in the barn, so all is well.

Only one more ewe to go...

Just a couple of days ago, Toulouse and I were enjoying 60 degrees and sunshine. That is Michigan weather for ya.

  2. Love your blanket of snow, and that lamb's face is adorable. When we had dairy goats they always picked the wrong days to kid. This is indeed a weird winter, but the daffodils in the yard don't mind a bit. ;)
Have a great rest of the week!

  3. We are (I think) a little north of you. We are getting snow today, but some of the heavier recent storms have missed us (up close to Charlevoix.) It was an easier winter than the past two, for sure! I'm ready for spring though. Good luck with the little lambs!
