Fleeces, on to the Fun Stuff

I have been knee deep in fleeces since shearing day! I have spent many days skirting, washing, picking and carding.   Yesterday, I took the day off from the "dirty work" and spent some time dyeing some wool locks and roving.

It is drying outside on the skirting table. I LOVE how the colors turned out. I purchased some Cushing dyes and after trying several colors, I am a fan. The Jacquard dyes work well, but the colors are very "bright", at least the ones I have tried. Between the two, the Cushing dyes are more suited to my color preferences.

Now I am off to spend some time with the family at the lake!
Enjoy your weekend!
