I have been having fun with the Tour De Fleece- I have managed to spin a little every day and make a few skeins of Romney Yarn. This is my first "real" usable yarn. Most of the other yarn I have made is being used for Wool Dryer Balls! I am thinking socks? sweater? I might as well think BIG!
I have taken a break from the Romney and started working with some Tunis wool. I have spent more time making adjustments to the wheel for the shorter, finer wool, than I have spinning. I am trying to ignore the few "slubs" that are in there, I keep telling myself, it just makes it that much more original (ha ha)
I am determined not to give up, until I have a few skeins of Tunis yarn.
The Tour De Fleece is always a great challenge, especially when you need the practice.
Thank you for letting me share my "small success" with you!
Spin On!

Sandra, I have to say, your yarn is beautiful, and I'm very glad you are sharing it with us. When we had sheep and I gave spinning a try, I never got this far. My yarn was full of fat bumps and skinny threads. But I really enjoy seeing what you are up to. Maybe someone else out there will take up the spindle and give it a whirl. Thank you!

Thanks!
DeleteI almost gave up on the spinning thing, more than once :)
You are doing a great job! Your yarn is perfectly wonderful :-).
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOh my gosh you are doing great! I want a thick pair of slippers knitted with that yarn!
ReplyDeleteI am working on some slippers, knit and felt ones. Using up that first yarn that I made when learning how to ply.
DeleteFigured the felting will hide some of the mistakes :)
