“A farm is a manipulative creature. There is no such thing as finished. Work comes in a stream and has no end. There are only the things that must be done now and things that can be done later. The threat the farm has got on you, the one that keeps you running from can until can't, is this: do it now, or some living thing will wilt or suffer or die. Its blackmail, really.”
― Kristin Kimball, The Dirty Life: On Farming, Food, and Love
Not the most encouraging quote, but today it fits!
Some days are just hard!

Oh yes that is indeed the perfect quote. I do wish you all the best to get through that tough stuff. I do understand. HUGS B
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, it's spot on. "no such thing is finished"
ReplyDeleteSo stark and pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I think this would make a great Christmas card photo :)
ReplyDeleteI just love that giant tree all by itself. Your place is very photogenic.
ReplyDeletePretty picture! Hope tomorrow is better!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what's going on, but hang in there Sandra. I just said a prayer for you.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth. Cold weather doesn't help things either.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Sandra, hang in there!
Amen! Sometimes it is just hard and you want a day off and for everything to go well and for the pipes to not freeze and the animals to do well and.............
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you.
Fern
Thanks to everyone! It hasn't been the best week. We lost one of our goats, unexpectedly. I know it happens, but it still is hard.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read today about your loss. I feel so heavy-hearted for you. Take care.
