I went to a fun workshop this weekend and one of the crafts was making burlap wreaths.
I bought home the supplies and worked on it today. It is an easy wreath to make BUT it is MESSY!
I didn't know cutting burlap made such a mess! But I am happy with the end results! A rustic burlap wreath.
I used a turkey that I had on hand, and when Thanksgiving is over it will be switched out for something that says Christmas!
If you don't mind making a mess.....
Supplies
One wire wreath frame -I used a 16 inch
1 1/2 yards of burlap fabric
1 pair of scissors or a rotary cutter and mat
To make the lines straight the woman at JoAnn Fabric suggested removing the thread from the burlap where you want to make the cut.
I cut the strips about 1 inch wide and about 9 inches long. Tie the strips onto the wire wreath. About 12 per section. I tied the strips at the top and bottom wire and then a few in the middle sections.
You can use a larger or smaller wreath frame, make wider or thinner strips, and adjust the length. It is very flexible!

Nice!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great!
ReplyDeleteIt's very nice - great job! They look fussy; I'd never have guessed it was easy.
ReplyDeleteHope you didn't have any weather problems today!
