We are all exhausted! I don't know if any of us have sat down for more than a few minutes the last few days.
Fair check in was today. Projects to turn in, sheep and goats to check in and drop off. No matter how organized and prepared you think you are, there is always the mad dash at the end with the dozens of things you forgot all about.
There is also the unexpected, like the goat you clipped for fair, but decided to leave at home, which means clipping another goat to take her place. (Poor Soapapilla was left at home) The lambs that are being weaned, escaping out of the barn three times when it is the last thing you need to be worrying about! (Never have I seen such escape artist!! )
But in the end, the stalls were decorated (our club), the goats are in their stalls as well as the Tunis sheep, the wool fleeces were left to be judged at the sheep show on Monday, and the photography projects were turned in and judged. (Yes, Delaney took in some of her pasture pics).
Let the Fair begin!
Now, I am off to take a nap!

Oh wow have fun! !

ReplyDeleteOh how exciting! I can't wait to hear about how it all went! And, you know, I think that no matter how organized you are, there's always going to be something that explodes or escapes at the last minute...I'm glad to hear you rolled with it ;-) Hope you've gotten some rest!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWe had a good time but next year, a few less projects would be a good idea :)
That sounds exhausting! I've always wondered how much work it is behind the scenes for those who show their animals at the fair. Sounds like it's a ton of work! Best of luck to you, and I hope Delaney wins some ribbons with her photos!
ReplyDeleteThis fair was a little too busy...next year, less projects :)
