We planted Peach Trees last year. I was happy to see that they made it through the winter. They greeted us this Spring with pretty pink blossoms. Not only do they have pretty blossoms but they surprised us with a wonderful aroma!
The Pear, Apple and Cherry trees also made it through the winter. The only tree that didn't make it was a Paw Paw tree that Mike planted.
We are hoping to get a good harvest this year. Last year with the crazy weather we didn't get any fruit.
The grass grows so fast and gets so thick in the orchard area, I would love to fence it in and let the sheep do the mowing. Someday!
“In an orchard there should be enough fruit to eat, enough to lay up, enough to be stolen, and enough to rot upon the ground.”
Samuel Madden, 'Boswell's Life of Johnson' (1783)
