Apple Blossoms |
They were calling for cold temperatures last night. We were hopeful that it would stay windy and we would not wake up to frost.
Well, that didn't happen. We woke up to a hard frost! I went out before the sun came up and sprayed the trees and bushes with water. I really hope that does the trick. A friend of mine told me that it has worked for them for many years.
Mike was just telling me earlier this week that it looked like we would be getting peaches and cherries on our newer trees this year. I was very excited about that. I will be sorely disappointed if we lose everything.
Last year we didn't get one bite of fruit due to the weather. I am hoping this year is not going to be the same. I will remain optimistic! Time will tell...

Oh Sandra we had a hard frost last night too and I was just admiring the blossoms on our pear trees I hope they survived. Nothing last year either. I hope your trick worked wish I had of remembered that. B
ReplyDeleteI sure hope that trick worked! We got cold but no hard frost. It would be a shame to go two years in a row with no fruit!
ReplyDeleteOne of my coworkers was just telling me about that trick today! He would spray his strawberries. I sure hope it works, that will be heartbreaking if not...
ReplyDeleteIt just won't warm up this year, will it? My theory, God is letting us know who really controls the climate.
ReplyDeleteWe lost all our peaches and apples to a late freeze too. So disappointing.
Kristin, I am sorry to hear that. :(
DeleteI hope all is well up there for you and your beautiful fruit trees this morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the "support"! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree!
