Keeping Busy

The weather today is miserable. Raining, and it is cold so ice is starting to form.

I knew when I seen ice forming on the windows that the animals would need moved. I was telling the twins that I needed to get outside and take care of everyone.  They immediately volunteered to go out in the cold rain. They said the Tunis love to follow them around and they could easily get them into the barn and then open the pasture gate and get everyone else in the barnyard.

I told them if they really wanted to I would let them take care of it for me.... (I was so happy to let them do it! The last place I wanted to be was outside in the cold, wet, rain)

Mike called from work and asked how everything was going. I told him the girls were outside taking care of the animals for me. He asked me what I was going to do when they grew up and moved out.
I will miss them terribly! They are great girls and it is definitely a great help that they love farming. Not all of my girls would have been so anxious to volunteer.

According to the countdown widget there are only three more weeks until Spring.
I have been working off  the list to keep myself from being sucked into the Winter Blahs!

I have planted some herbs in some little pots (lemon balm, cilantro, basil, parsley)

Organizing my kitchen cupboards so I don't have pots falling out every time I open the door.

I bought some bright colored cotton yarn so I can knit some dishcloths and bring some spring color into the kitchen.

I have been doing some homework on hand spinning, growing and using herbs, and raised bed gardening.

Planning summer vacation.

Would love to hear what you are doing!

  1. I have never had the winter blahs before, but they are hitting hard this year. Very ready to get outside and start planting instead of planning. :)

I just stopped by from Girl Gab. Hope you keep those winter blues away for a few more weeks - spring can't be far off.
